JAPANESE PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

Physical education constitutes to the establishment of key qualities and general competencies for students; arms students with adaptability to different living conditions, optimism and empathy by extending their knowledge on health and fitness management; and ultimately benefits them in physical and mental wellness.

Through sports activities inside and outside the school, students will learn a sense of self-discipline, responsibility, integrity, courage, companionship, and perseverance. The given set of values, subsequently, would shed light on students’ future prospects in career and personal pursuits to keep pace with global integration.

The Physical Education program, with supplementary swimming sessions, is carried out in accordance with the MOET’s regulations.

The school has introduced the Japanese PE program into Grade 1 and Grade 2’s curriculum since the 2018-2019 school year. Aided by the program’s practical values and the teachers’ wealth of experience from regular training with leading Japanese experts, many IPS’ first and second graders have been trained with bodily flexibility, self-confidence and bravery. The program has also factored in students’ well-rounded development in terms of mental, physical and intellectual capacities, a solid foundation of health, and a strong warrior spirit, assembling a must-have value set for future global citizens.

According to experts, once the body finds its balance, the sense of ethics, aesthetics and intelligence will be refined. The constant workout of the senses via activities helps distill emotions, ideally in the first years of life.
